Read the instructions before use. Open the battery cover and insert 2 AAA batteries. Press "SET" to select whether to measure body temperature or surface temperature. Hold the thermometer's measuring lens 3-5 centimeters away from what you are measuring. Place a finger on the button and press it to automatically start the thermometer and display the measurement result. You can repeat the measurement several times for a reliable result. An infrared fever thermometer measures the outer skin temperature. It has the advantage of being fast and non-contact but cannot be compared to rectal measurement. Since external factors can affect the measurement result with a fever thermometer, it is primarily recommended to get an idea of whether you have a fever or not. The difference between rectal measurement and forehead temperature can be up to 1.5 C. It is therefore important that when the fever thermometer shows an elevated temperature, confirm this with a rectal thermometer (for children) and a rectal or oral thermometer (for adults).
