This magnesium rod absorbs oxidizing substances and contaminants in water through electrolysis, helping prevent rust in metal water tanks and supporting long-term performance of your RV water heater. The magnesium anode rod attracts corrosive elements, protecting the tank from corrosion and extending its lifespan. By drawing harmful minerals to itself, it helps prolong the life of the water heater. If the anode rod becomes depleted or fully corroded, the tank may begin to rust, crack, fail, or leak. These magnesium anode rods are 4.5 inches (115mm) long with a 0.5 inch (13mm) diameter and feature 1/2 inch threads, compatible with Atwood models. Use for: Atwood water heaters. To drain the tank, unscrew the anode rod. Inspect the rod regularly; if it is significantly corroded, replace it with a new one. Keep a spare on hand in your RV. Color: Silver.
