De sensor BH1750FVI is ontworpen voor het meten van omgevingsverlichting. Deze digitale lichtsensor IC meet de invallende lichtintensiteit en zet deze om in een 16-bits digitaal nummer. Het meetbereik van de sensor ligt tussen 0 en 65535 lux, wat overeenkomt met de SI-eenheid voor lichtsterkte. De sensor geeft de lichtintensiteit direct in lux weer, met een spectrale reactie die dicht bij die van het menselijk oog ligt. De sensoruitgang kan eenvoudig worden weergegeven via een I2C-interface, met een 7-bits I2C-adres dat kan worden ingesteld op 0x23 of 0x5C, afhankelijk van de configuratie. De BH1750FVI-sensor is voorzien van een ingebouwde 16-bits AD-converter en biedt een hoge precisie van 1 lux, wat het geschikt maakt voor een breed scala aan toepassingen. De module is eenvoudig te integreren met microcontrollers en biedt directe digitale output, waardoor complexe berekeningen en kalibraties overbodig zijn. In de verpakking zit één lichtintensiteitssensor.
