De kap verbetert de warmte-isolatie van de hotend, voorkomt grote temperatuurschommelingen en beschermt tegen brandwonden. Door de isolatie blijft de warmte beter bij het mondstuk, zodat het filament de juiste temperatuur bereikt en de print minder snel mislukt.De siliconen kap is flexibel en kan dicht bij het verwarmingsblok worden geplaatst.
