Product description Fragile round spa wafers filled with a unique hand-poured mixture of hazelnuts, sugar and cinnamon. Spa wafers are packed in seven pieces. SPA WAFER Spa wafers are an inherent part of spa life. Sources from the end of the 18th century state that wafers were a popular sweet delicacy among the townspeople. In Mariánské Lázně, the boom in the production of this specialty dates back to 1856. According to a legend from the 19th century, a skilled cook from the Premonstratensian monastery in Teplá was behind the creation of spa wafers. When he was once tasked with preparing a dessert for the guests, he thought of using the baking trays for baking the guests. He improved the simple dough by adding sugar and milk and sprinkled a delicious mixture of nuts, sugar, cinnamon and other fine spices between the baked wafers. He then baked the wafers together.
