For better suction and longer life, apply a small amount of lubricating oil to the pump inlet before use and flush with water. After each use with water. - Make sure the inlet hose is tight and as short as possible. The inlet pipe should not exceed 9 feet (2.75 m). - When pumping abrasive liquids or liquids containing solids, install a filter in the inlet to extend the life of the pump. - For safety and ease of use, it is not recommended to mount the pump on a surface. - Install the drill and start it. Monitor the inlet hose to ensure that liquid is being sucked into the inlet hose. The pump should start within 15 minutes; 20 seconds. Otherwise, check that the inlet pipe is properly installed. - Do not run the pump dry.
