This M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD adapter allows upgrading SSD for 2013-2015 models with NVMe SSD capacity. It is compatible with Air 11 inch A1465 & Air 13 inch A1466 (Mid 2013-2017), Pro (Retina) 13 inch A1502 & 15 inch A1398 (Late 2013 - Mid 2015), Pro ME253 MD878. Requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later; not compatible with versions earlier than macOS 10.13. Please upgrade your macOS before installation. Supports M.2 NVMe/AHCI SSDs such as 960 EVO, 970 EVO/PRO (not supporting 960 Plus), Crucial P1, EX920, SX8200, 600p series NVMe SSD, and others. Does not support internet recovery; it is essential to prepare a bootable USB disk drive (M.2 PCIe has no operating system inside and must be erased first). Type: Cable Adapter How to use: 1. Ensure macOS High Sierra is installed on your old drive to have the updated firmware that supports NVMe. 2. Fully back up your old drive using Time Machine. 3. Create a macOS High Sierra installer on a bootable USB drive. 4. Open the device and disconnect the battery while replacing the drive; ensure both the adapter and new SSD are securely seated. 5. Reconnect the battery before closing the device. 6. Insert the installer USB drive and press the Option key when starting the machine. 7. After booting, use Disk Utility to format the new SSD and install the operating system. Notice: 1. Some NVMe SSDs may cause macOS to fail resuming from hibernation. It is recommended to shut down the laptop completely instead of closing the lid. 2. Insert the adapter fully into the SSD slot and ensure a bootable USB drive with macOS High Sierra is prepared (see step 3) to format the M.2 SSD first; internet recovery is not supported. 3.
