The problem worsens over time and ultimately cannot be initiated at all. The vehicle behaves as if it's out of gas. Due to the fuel pump relay being stuck in the closed open position, there is unexplained battery consumption. If you listen from behind after the vehicle is turned off, you may hear the fuel pump running. Even if a new battery or fuel pump is installed, battery consumption may still occur.
