1. A Keg Coupler is a key element of every draft beer system. It is a small but important device that connects the gas and beer lines to your keg. Pressurized gas (either CO2 or nitrogen, depending on the beer type) flows through an air line into the side of the keg coupler and the beer flows out through a beer line attached at the top. 2. Simply put, your draft beer dispensing system will be a failure without the right keg coupler. In every draft beer system, the coupler or keg tap allows the gas tank to direct pressurized CO2 into the keg. You attach the bottom of the coupler to the keg valve, the gas line to the side hose nipple, and the beer line to the top of the coupler. When in use, the beer is pushed up the beer line toward the tap. 3. With a body made of nickelplated brass, the coupler has a probe made of stainless steel 304, the part that is inserted into the keg. Every part of this coupler that comes into with your beer is made of stainless steel.
