This AD831 is a low-distortion, wide dynamic range, single-chip mixer, perfect for RF-IF conversion in HF and VHF receivers, second mixers in DMR stations, DC baseband conversion, quadrature modulation/demodulation, and frequency shift detection in ultrasound imaging and other applications. The AD831 boasts a +24 dBm third-order intercept, achieving -10 dBm LO consumption. It doesn't require high LO drivers, eliminating corresponding shielding and isolation issues. Compared to passive mixers, it enhances system performance and reduces costs. Designed for single power supply operation, the RF, IF, and LO ports feature DC isolation capacitors for ease of use. RF and LO input operating frequencies reach up to 500MHz. The IF output is a single-ended voltage output with a 250 MHz output bandwidth. A single resistor connected between the OUT and FB pins sets the gain. The amplifier's low DC offset characteristics make it ideal for DC-coupled applications like DC baseband frequency conversion and quadrature amplitude demodulation. With the mixer's output amplifier and optimal source impedance, the SSB noise figure is 10.3 dB at 70 MHz. Unlike passive mixers, the AD831 has no insertion loss, external duplexer, or passive termination. The AD8362 offers two operating modes: measurement and controller.
